The American West represents this exact reinvention of the soul, with Suroeste following suit. We exist to replicate the feeling of being immersed in the desert, to bring people to this sense of wild creativity and then document the process. We exist to capture passionate love stories in a way that feels and looks exhilarating and to bring something to life, whether that be moments from a wedding, a couple’s love, or a feeling in the soul.

We are based in Albuquerque, New Mexico just outside of Santa Fe. The American west is so beautiful and has an amazing variety of landscapes: red rock, sand dunes, lakes, mountains, amazing rock formations, golden fields, rolling hills, slot canyons, cliffs, sandstone, epic overlooks and views, endless open desert and spaces.
That said, we LOVE to travel! If you’re unsure about where to go, we are happy to weigh in with ideas and recommendations.
Since every location is unique, we don’t have a set travel fee included in packages—we add on roundtrip flights out of Albuquerque, accommodation, and rental car/transportation fees. We look up averages and add these on when we first book. We do book all our own accommodations.
If we’re shooting within two hours of Albuquerque, there are no travel fees. If you want to avoid paying for flights, you can also meet us somewhere we are already going.
At Suroeste, you’re supported by a thoughtfully curated creative team — not a single individual working alone.
Our photographers and filmmakers are hand-selected, trained, and aligned under one shared vision. Each member of the Suroeste collective shoots with the same editorial approach, intentional pacing, and pro-level gear to ensure a seamless experience and consistent artistry.
From your first inquiry to final delivery, your story is handled with care. Every gallery and film is thoughtfully edited in-house under the creative direction of Frankie Gomez, ensuring your wedding is told with the depth, emotion, and signature style Suroeste is known for.
We offer second shooters based on size i.e small/intimate wedding less than 50 (one lead photographer only), 50-100 (one lead photographer & second shooter), 100 or more (one lead photographer, second shooter, & assistant). We can always custom design your package to best meet your needs!
To reserve your wedding date we require a 40% non-refundable retainer, and the remaining balance must be paid 30 days before the event.
Absolutely! We require a 40% retainer to reserve your date, and then the other 60% is due 1 month before for weddings, or 2 weeks before for shoots. We are open setting up a payment plan of 8 different payments if needed, just let us know!
Cancellations & retainers are non-refundable and non transferrable.
Processed digital photos will be uploaded within 12-8 weeks of the event date.
